Sunday, August 27, 2017  The Millersburg Fire Company recently donated used fire hose to Potter County for distribution to the Germania and Kettle Creek Fire Company's. Millersburg applied for and received a Dauphin County Gaming Grant and a Office of the State Fire Commissioner Grant last year and replaced all 2 1/2", 3" and 5" fire hose and placed adapters on all the Millersburg Water Authority fire hydrants in the borough and Upper Paxton Township. This was done to convert the fire company to National Standard Thread. The fire hose that was removed from service was still serviceable and the fire company decided to work with the PEMA Central Area Office and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner to determine if there was any departments in need of the removed hose and adapters. Potter County indicated that they would take it for distribution. On August 27th Glenn Dunn from Potter County EMA brought a truck and trailer to Millersburg and members of Millersburg loaded approximately 3000 feet of hose and adapters.

Wednesday, August 23, 2017 1928 There was a line of storms that proceeded thru the area this evening which resulted in multiple calls for trees down blocking roadways and utility lines pulled down. Units were dispatched to cover a total of thirteen calls, mutual aid was requested from Reliance Hose Company in Elizabethville, Station 21 to assist with one call due to Company 20 resources being stretched thin. All units and Dauphin County 911 Dispatchers did a great job handling the situation.

Wednesday, April 19, 2017 09:40 Engine 20 was dispatched this morning to the 300 Block of South Market Street (Lenkerville) for a reported vehicle crash with entrapment or confinement. Additional information from Dauphin County Communications indicated a single vehicle into a house with confinement only. Upon arrival, Chief 20 (D. Snyder) reported the vehicle had struck a parked SUV and deflected off it striking two more parked vehicles. The car then struck a nearby house which caused a support column to be knocked out. Engine 20 and Engine 201 arrived with crews assisting the removal of the driver and packaging for the Millersburg Ambulance as well as cribbing the the porch for support. Engine 29-1 was initially dispatched but cancelled shortly thereafter. Thanks to Seth Lasko and Branson Smith for the photos.

Friday, April 14, 2017 14:55  Just before 3:00 on a Friday afternoon, Company 20 was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 2200 Block of Shippen Dam Road.  Chief 20 (D. Snyder) went enroute and was advised that there were multiple callers.  Chief 20 requested the box be upgraded which brought more apparatus to assist.  Upon arrival Chief 20 found a fully involved brick farm house and updated the address to the 500 Block of Deibler Road.  Crews from Engine 20 went to work immediately stretching lines including the Blitzfire master stream.  Initial water supply issues were corrected and units had a good supply for the crews.  The operations which were being handled by Chief 203 (C. Snyder) were held to exterior only with the heavy volume of fire and risk of collapse.  A nearby vehicle was involved as well as nearby brush.  Thanks to Engine 29-1 (Halifax) for standing by in our quarters (and helping with hose cleanup) while our crews finished working at the scene.  No injuries were reported.

Saturday, March 25, 2017 10:06  March 25, 2017 10:06 - Engine 20 was dispatched to assist Company 21   (Elizabethville) with a crash with entrapment.  Command 21 assigned the Millersburg crew to a vehicle on its roof with a single patient trapped inside.  The crew split with two operating the spreaders and cutters, another with patient care and another with stabilization.  Extrication was completed and the vehicle secured with liquid hazards having been mitigated.  Crews then moved to assist with freeing a second victim.  Five injuries were reported and four were flown from the Upper Dauphin High School and Halifax Fire Station.  We assisted with clean up at the scene until placed in service at 11:41.  Great job by both Millersburg and Elizabethville crews!  Photo courtesy of Seth Lasko Photography and Doug Snyder.
