STRUCTURE FIRE ON MATTERS LANE

     

Monday, August 10, 2015 1916 Box 20-2 was dispatched this evening for a reported structure fire on Matters Lane in Upper Paxton Twp. Chief 20 (Snyder) responded and was told the caller could see smoke and flames from the house, a 1st Alarm was requested immediately. Upon arrival Chief 20 found a 2 1/2 story wood frame house approximately 90% involved. Engine 26 laid 1200' of 5" supply hose up Matters Lane from Shippen Dam Road and Engine 20 laid the remainder of the hose to the scene. Engine 26's crew was ordered to deploy two pre-connects and Engine 20 deployed one pre-connect and the BlitzFire. Crews were then assisted by crews from Engine 21 and Rescue 28. Water supply was coordinated by Chief 26 (Savage) with Engine 29-1 and Rescue 21 setting up two separate fill sites. Operations were defensive in nature due to structural collapse early after arrival. Command : Chief 20 (Snyder)
